Cookie and device storage policy

Cookies are small values sent with relevant web requests. Local storage remains in the browser until removed; session storage usually lasts for the current tab session. This policy covers these technologies and the optional service connections controlled by the privacy panel.

Authentication, protection against forged requests, saving a privacy choice and maintaining a requested workflow are necessary functions. They are shown as always enabled in the panel, rather than as a request for optional consent. The Remember me option at sign-in is a separate request to keep a longer sign-in session.

Server security and operational logging are separate from optional browser diagnostics. Rejecting optional cookies does not disable the security controls needed to deliver the service.

Preferences remember language and display currency. Google Maps enables interactive maps and address search. Online chat enables Nextbot and messages you choose to send. Diagnostics enables browser error reporting to Sentry. These purposes are initially off and can be selected separately.

There is no advertising-cookie option in this release because Fern has not configured a direct advertising tracker in this implementation. This does not mean an external provider has no data practices of its own. Review its notice before enabling a service.

Authentication cookie names start with the deployment's configured namespace. The durations below describe the current application defaults and may vary with deployment settings. A cookie may expire earlier when you sign out, clear storage or use browser privacy controls.

Interactive Google Maps and Nextbot are not loaded before permission for their respective purpose. Browser error reporting is also withheld unless diagnostics is enabled. Static map previews may be fetched by Fern's server; they are distinct from a direct connection between your browser and Google Maps.

External providers can use their own cookies or storage depending on browser settings, sign-in state and their current service. Fern cannot remove a cookie belonging to another provider's domain. Use that provider's controls or your browser to remove it. Nextbot's userId local-storage entry on Fern is cleared when chat permission is absent or withdrawn.

Removing a previously loaded external script does not remove all its running code. When you withdraw an active map, chat or diagnostics permission, Fern reloads the page after saving the choice to stop that code. Previously transmitted information is not recalled by deleting a cookie.

Accept all enables every optional purpose. Open Details to see the additional categories. When at least one is checked, the main button becomes Accept and saves only the selected purposes. Necessary only is always available on the notice and disables every optional purpose, even if some categories are checked in the unfinished selection. Opening Details, visiting a policy page, scrolling or continuing to browse does not save or grant consent. The unfinished choice remains available while you read.

Cookie settings in the footer reopens your saved choices. Consent and refusal are remembered for 180 days in this browser. A change to the consent version, an expired or invalid record, or cleared cookies triggers a new choice. An unfinished selection in the current tab is not consent and never enables services by itself.

Browser controls can remove or block cookies and site storage. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent sign-in or saving your choice. Your selection is specific to this browser and Fern host; it is not automatically shared with another device or an external website.
